Never had a problem sending it through an X-Ray machine. The only reason you aren't supposed to send laptops and other large hard drive hardware through a machine is that they use magnetic storage (i.e. Hard Drives, Floppy Disks, etc.). Everything in the Axim, however, is solid state memory (unless you're using a MicroDrive).....so you don't have to worry about anything being erased by the X-Ray machine.
As a side note, I go through the X-Ray machines at Atlanta Int. Airport about once every 2 months with no problems getting the Axim through.
