Well, you can't change the text color in WindowsXP either. Unless you compress or encrypt the file. Even then you can't choose the color, its built in.
Anyway, I use Resco Explorer and it does list the files like you want. With no "details". However, you can't change the color (not even when its compressed or encrypted) which Resco does both off. I think Resco would be a good piece of software for you. It has network drive mapping, ftp, and a regitry editor. Plus other little goodies.
