This is basically what I did. I've hard reset my axim so many times its not even funny ... but really its the only way to find the combination of applications that work for what you want your axim to do. There's so many applications (and many of them are terrible) that you need to weed through them to find out what really is what YOU want. Here's a good example what I mean --

Spb Pocket Plus, Resco Explorer & iLauncher are all very good applications. They all include a today plugin that allows you to create and launch shortcuts to applications on your today screen. Now, the problem was everything but iLauncher used the default application icons for the shortcuts. Most applications have some butt ugly icons ... iLauncher lets you use whatever icon you want. However that's really the only thing iLauncher is good for - launching things. Pocket Plus has a ton of other options as does Resco Explorer and neither of them is identical to what the other one offers... see where I'm going with this? You really have to figure out what you want. I personally hate half the options these applications have but they have 1 or 2 things I love ...

Ok ... if the wifi control thing isn't all that important - here's how you can save about $34.95 and still be able to control your x51v through your desktop/laptop.

What you're going to need:

ActiveSync

Remote Display Control Host

VGA BruteForce - either follow the information in this post or get Tweaks2k2 and apply the vga brute force in Tweaks2k2 to cerdisp.exe in your start menu.

Now when you connect run Remote Display it will be in VGA and you can control all aspects of your PPC from your desktop without spending $30+ dollars ... the only loss here is that you need to be physically connected to the PC for it to work unlike the suggested app which allows you to be wireless.

PS --- Tweaks2k2 --- This is not one of those personally find out if you like it kind of apps. This is one of those if you don't have it you're not using your PPC right. Tweaks2k2 is litterally the first thing that gets installed on my axim after a hard reset. Here's why:

1. Disables the "security" feature of WM5 that bugs you about your software
2. Change the system font (I just don't like tahoma)
3. WM5 optimized cache size
4. VGA Brute Force (I use it for Acrobat & Remote Display)
5. Change the Today Screen Soft Keys
6. WM5 Top & Bottom bar color adjustment
