I went to Best Buy today and played with a 2215...I was pretty astounded as to the difference in the two units. I'm sending mine back. Even with a fix, I feel like I'm getting hassled - I've spoken with Dell reps on a few occasions (whom treated me like a witless moron) and had multiple tech support emails go unanswered, which tends to leave a bad taste in the mouth. So, I will consider Dell products in the future, as I've been a frequent customer in the past, but the current support environment is untenable.
I agree some are reacting too strongly over this, but people deserve what they paid for: a working product. After comparing the 2215 to my Axim (which I've been loath to part with thus far), the difference was convincing enough.
