The overall abysmal performance prevents ActiveSync from functioning. It causes a death spiral of increasingly slower performance until the device locks up (usually within 10-15 minutes) requiring a reset.
Not everyone is experiencing all symptoms.
Unless you have an Axim Advanced w/2003 then you are NOT in a position to gauge the impact this problem has.
People are overlooking one critical fact... those of us experiencing these problems are more concerned with Dell's lack of "stepping up to the plate" than the actual problem itself!
Sure we're ticked that we have a doorstop PDA... but we're MORE steamed that Dell is playing word games in an attempt to hide the fact that there are problems.

true true. And I think Dell's (apparent) attitude towards this problem is terrible. I don't have a 2003 unit and am glad. I feel for those that do and if you can't wait for the fix, return it, as is your right.
I wonder if anyone has aked Dell to replace a 2003 model with one with 2002? They must ahve some since compgeeks always get them. Worth trying for some of you folks maybe.
