Java Runtime on Axim x51v Intel
Hi All
I am trying to find a Java Runtime Environment for my Axim x51v (624mhz Intel PXA270) running Win Mobile 5.
When I check out IBM's download site, it lists the WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment 6.1 version for the Axim x51v as having, and being compatible, with an ARM Processor (?).
Due to this, I am leary as to to whether or not it will run on my Axim correctly and do not want to attempt loading until I can get some clarification.
There is also a 5.7 that lists compatibility with Win PPC 2003 and Intel Processor, but does not list compatibility with Win Mobile 5 and the Axim x51v.
Are any of you running Java Runtime Environments on your Axim x51v's, and if so, what Runtime Environment are you using? Also, is it bug free?
Here is why I am looking to do this: I am taking an Elementary Algebra course and have a wonderful little App for my Sharp Zaurus SL5500 that runs under the Jeode Environment that I would like to run on my Axim.
I have loaded JRE 1.1.8 on my Win 2000 Pro Desktop Machine and created a custom .bat file to run the .jar file for use on the Sharp Zaurus, and am able to run it on my Desktop Machine just fine, so I believe I should be able to do the same for my Axim if I can find a compatible Java Runtime Environment to run on it.
I can buy a new PPC2003 seat of the Algebra (Formulae 1) application but am unsure of its compatibility with Win Mobile 5 and am awaiting word from the company that writes it, and it will cost another $30.00.
The program is the best darn Algebra program I have found for the PDA format, I would really like to use on my Axim.
Alternatively, if you know of another program for the Axim and Win Mobile 5 that excels at simplifying, expanding, isolating variables and solving expressions, equations, inequations, etc, step by step to help someone who does not have access to a tutor or knowledgeable Algebra guru to help figure out how to work these types of problems step by step, please let me know about your recommendations.
Thanks in advance for any advice you may provide.
