Water spilled on Axim
I have had a similar problem. Spilled water on screen/button area and now the unit won't work. I get the Dell logo and a message to hard reset, both of which fade from the screen rather quickly.
Hard resets didn't help, neither did taking the back off and using a low temp hair dryer plus airing at room temp.
I think this is a design flaw for a $300 PDA to be so sensitive to moisture, but of course Dell disagrees. I especially think Dell is remiss in not offering any repair options, and they didn't tell me I could get a replacement policy for $20 when I bought the unit.
P.S. disassembly is easy: remove all exterior rubber pieces (two pads and two tiny inserts on the back, and the long rubber pads along each side. Using a very small screwdriver, remove six screws (four under the rubber pads and two exposed when the battery module is removed). At this point, gently separate the case along the joint.
Good luck!
