New to Axim! Need advice...

Hi all,

I've not used a PocketPC since my h2210, and before that, a Fujitsu-Siemens Loox. After that, I've switched back to PalmOS for a while before my Palm got stolen. It's been some 7 months now since I've last used a PDA, and let's just say, the compelling reason to get one again is because I've not been able to get all organised since then. I've become a little too reliant on a PDA (which is sad/bad, but I've had a PDA since the Palm m100 was first released many many years ago), not just for PIM, but for some other features here and there, games, eBooks and MP3 playing, amongst others.

That said, I've never used a WM5 device before (no, not even touched one, since none of my friends owns a WM5 device), and after browsing through these forums for the last week or so, I'm still rather lost, and a bit intimidated.

Can anyone advice what is to be done once I get my Axim x51v tomorrow (Delivery tomorrow evening for me)? I know of the "Server trick", which simply means to add a pseudo server, set the sync to "never" and delete the pseudo server account, or something to that effect.

Is there anything else I will need to do?

With all that, can anyone recommend any programs/games I would enjoy on my Axim? I have looked at the compatibility guide, and I'm lost... Since the last time I was on "PocketPC / Windows Mobile" was a considerable period ago, I'm wondering what I should/can be installing...

I seem to remember Pocket Informant was my PIM of choice, I had bought (and can still dig up) Wisbar Advance just before I sold my h2210, and I remember an old freeware Today utility called BatMemTime (which is still in existence, last I checked).

How about recommending any others that revolutionised how you used a PDA?

Best regards,
/FS
