Take some pictures of the assemblies before you dissassemble them for reference.
Essentially, use the instructions from the Italian site to open the Axim and remove the display.

Be VERY careful when you remove the digitizer and LCD flex cables from their connectors.
Once you have the display assembly free and clear of the rest of the inner PDA frame, you need to remove the metal tape from the sides. Just peel back the tape slowly and place it where it won't get damaged, as you will need to re-use it.
Now that the tape is off, get a really sharp X-acto knife blade and carefully slide it under the edge of the front metal frame that the digitiser is bonded to. What you want to do here is to remove the frame from the LCD. The frame snaps on to some small plastic nubbins around the sides of the LCD.
DON'T try to cut away the digitiser at this time or I guarantee that you will scratch your LCD surface!!
You only need to pry the frame edge out just to clear the plastic on the sides of the LCD. Do top and one side and slowly pull the front frame off the LCD.
Once the frame is off of the LCD, put the LCD into a clean container to keep the dust off of it. Don't bend the cable either.
Now you can slowly cut the glue holding the digitiser to the front frame. Don't worry if you break the digitiser into small pieces - it's already broken. Once the metal frame is free of the old digitiser, clean ALL of the old glue with solvent - don't bend the frame - it's fragile!
Bend the edges of the frame (that you had to pry back) so they are once again, straight. This will allow you to snap it over the LCD once the new digitiser is bonded to it. Now, place the frame back on to the LCD and make sure it snaps in place. Get the metal tape you peeled off and put that back as it was as well.
After you order and receive your new digitiser from PDAparts in California or another source, you will remove the backing cover from the two way tape and very carefully position it over the metal frame on the LCD. This glue HOLDS so don't lay it down on the frame until it's aligned.
Just use finger pressure lightly to adhere the new digitser to the frame. Remember, the digitiser is FRAGILE.
NOTE: You will also want to get a can of compressed air and make sure all dust is off of the LCD and underside of the digitiser just before you mate the two.
The trick here is to take it slow.
All done. Easy, eh?
