Must admit I love "faulty towers" but it might be a little UK specific.
An idea for the game without playing it; I know a good part of building things was also destroying them. Think of all the old games where you completed a level to meet the boss. Something like that would be cool.....so once you have built something you could pick an option of how to bring it down e.g. TNT, Godzilla, King Kong, Drunken Kilted Scotsman ???
May be way off the mark but just spitballing without knowing the full game concept.
