Strangely, the Zip-Linq retractable cable that was included with the Power Pack seriously reduces the output, and is useless, even for running the Axim when it's fully charged.

I think the reason for this particular cable is (having not seen it in person):
- portability (i'm guessing)
- and the ability to charge the Ax while the Ax is off and when the Socket it getting low in power.
Just a guess though. I don't have the Socket so I can't speculate any further. If I had it I could possible make more educated guesses.
