I would remove ActiveSync and reinstall. Something went wrong during the installation. Do this -> reboot PC and make sure Outlook is not started by leaving the Axim off the cradle. Delete the Mobile Device (in ActiveSync File -> Delete Mobile Device) Remove AcitveSync -> reboot again -> reinstall ActiveSync
