If you are interested in only capturing tv and burning it, have you considered buying a computer with media center already installed? I have a Toshiba Qosmio laptop with media center and I can capture and burn DVDs. The Qosmio does produce a lot of heat. I have my laptop sitting on a cooling fan.
Another option is to purchase a standalone DVD recorder. I have a LiteOn dvd recorder that operates like a VCR. You can set it for 1hr; 2hr; 3hr; 4hr or 6hr quality. You can set the timer to come on and go off. Just some suggestions if you want to buy something already together instead of acquiring all the pieces.
Since i obtained my LiteOn, I seldom capture tv on the laptop.
