That zero length file observation is a good one to remember. I think I'll stick a note about it on my Axim. You'll never know when a little jewel of info like that will save the day.
My new SanDisk SD Card gave me one little hiccup about a week ago. When I first stuck it in the Axim, I was surprised not to get a message about the OS wanting to format the device. Oh well, I copied some stuff to it and installed some apps as well and sure enough a couple days later the thing was blank on start up.
I shut down, pulled out the card and then re-seated it. On the next power up, sure enough WindowsCE asked if I'd like to format the thing. Of course I did and have not had a problem since.
I've re-installed a number of apps on it, copied a bunch of lit files from my PC, used the registry hack to put my temporary internet files on it and done a Save As of large message attachments to it from the Built In Storage. Not a hint of a problem.
By the way, that zero length file does not exit on the card.
