If you're looking to play videos in WMP, they need to be converted to WMV's (unless you want uncompressed / low compression videos). Even so, TCPMP will play them better than WMP can. My experience with WMV's in TCPMP was that they constantly keep stuttering and even going black during play when you change the screensize (which is either 100% or fullscreen in WMP).
WMV's are the easiest format to create videos with thanks to Windows Movie Maker and is a good format for compatibility as well as streaming over the Internet, but for sound and picture quality I'd recommend you avoid it.
