The Sound chip on the axim has a 48KHz 16bit input, however whether dell connected it to anyway is another question, i'd assume something that useful would be on the rather large connector on the bottom...
Unfortuantly, i dont know for sure :( I hope somebody will publish a full pinout of the connector
