The pin out of the x51v is the same as the x50v. I am not sure about power requirements but the Belkin cable should work just fine with the included car and AC adapters. Its only with the computer you should be having problems. Not sure what exact problem your having dtsouers but this is a design problem with the cable and my guess is that if you had an x50v you would still have the same problem.
