I think maybe the best solution would be to convert the wma to an mp3, do your editing, and then convert back. For a ringtone, the quality loss won't be that big of a deal.
One question though... are you sure your phone can use a wma as a ringtone? A smartphone, perhaps... but most non-converged cell phones will only use mp3s (if that).
