Everybody seems to be having a lot of problems implementing this ... but I think for the most part it has a lot to do with downloading various different packages. The one I've used (since day one) and not had any issues with so far is
THIS one. I have never (and never will) download that big Power Toys package ... and honestly I have never tried the version that didn't require a client on the PPC. Seems to me to be a little shady anyway, since in most client/server topologies you really need a client application to connect to the server applicaiton.
My original post (Solsie did a nice job trying to help pull a simple to use package together) has the details for what I have done to get the VGA aware part running on my devices - currently Remote Display has worked like a charm on the following devices (obviously the QVGA devices didn't need the mui file):
iPaq h2215 - wm2003 (QVGA)
Axim x5 - wm2003 (QVGA)
Axim x50v - WM2003se (VGA)
Axim x51v - WM5 (VGA)
Cingular 8125 - WM5 (QVGA)
Landscape mode problems ... DO NOT SWITCH TO LANDSCAPE WHILE REMOTE DISPLAY IS RUNNING!! This will cause really funky issues. To use landscape instead of portrait quit RDC on the client PDA (you can leave the host running on the desktop), switch to landscape, start a new instance of the RDC client on the PDA and then connect to the host.
Hope that helps .. :approve:
