Mad

I went ahead and downloaded the trial version os XCPUScalar
and tried things out. I am running the advanced 400MHz PXA255 chip. When I try to push the Axim to 472MHz, it immediately locks up. Had to soft reset to recover. After so many lockups, I was getting the filesys error as well. This was occasional but started getting worse. Would get this error immediately after a soft reset. Decided to do a hard reset. The first time it froze during the reset process. I have to remove the battery since I could not turn it off. The second time was a success. I was able to restore from a week old backup.

I sent an email to ImmierSoft regarding this. According to ImmierSoft, for the Axim to work withing spec, the minimum speed needs to be 10ns. Dell's supplier of Axim memory could ship any rated memory as long as it meets the minimum specification. So apparently, Dell has shipped the Axims in batches with some batches running at 10ns and other batches running faster. According to ImmierSoft, there are several people running XCPUScalar on Axims and don't have a problem

I have not verified what memory speed I am running. All I know is that XCPUScalar does not work on the Axim that I have.
