Alright, here are my questions
1- Are there known malware for palms (virus, trojan etc..)
2- why can't some software just provide .cab files? Instead, they use install shield which "shield" us from knowing what exactly is installed! (can we remove what they install?)
3- For an Axim X51v, which cab file is preferable? (ARMS, ARM4 etc)
4- I install my programs on my sd card. Does that mean I can take the card, put it in another PDA and the soft will work?
Thanks

1., if by palms you mean ppc in general, there has been talk about them, but I don't know of any active ones, security over either bluetooth or wireless may be another matter. I'm sure others will have more to say on this.
2. Yes you can remove extra things that are installed and in fact unless you want to have the ability to uninstall from activesync on your desktop pc, you can delete the whole directory from your pc. There are exceptions such as back up software that sometimes keeps useful files, or other softwares that sync database info such as notemaking, secure wallets, tasks or lists.
You can also delete the cab files that do not pertain to your ppc.
3. arm files for x51v. sometimes they will mention xscale processors, that works and some sites have many different flavors of arm, arm4 may be the better fit.
4. Some yes, some no. Some programs put dlls in the windows folder and only their support files on the sd. They then point to the dll in the registry or hard code it into the program. they programs will not run when the sd is put into another ppc. Other programs keep all there dlls with them do not need anything to run directly from the device, do not write a registry key. these are good to go from the card. You find out which ones work by trial and error.
