I am an overclocking fiend ... water cooled dual Athlon machines ... conjures some strange peripherals for PPCs
Heat is semiconductor's enemy. So life expectancy will be reduced. As I am a new comer to PPCs & their forums, I do not know if anyone has reported a Axim failure that might be contributed to overcloking. I used "might" as you never may be certain that was the cause in the event of a failure.
So if you haven't found any reports ... that is good ... expecialy for someone like myself.
In thinking a little bit about the overcloking programs that I have reviewed very briefly, the overclock increments seem to be 50 MHz. My guess is that the increment that will allow the machine to operate is far enough below the actual "edge", that the processor will not get
that hot. With PCs, the overclock freq. can be pushed to within 1 MHz of operate/no operate. God forbid if you don't have the heat sink on correctly ... especially Athlons.
