I've been testing with my axim and here are the results .
I'm playing a verry heavy mpg movie with PocketTV.
L=1 M=2 N= 4 : Speed 398 , Pxbus 99 : 12.22 Fps
L=1 M=2 N= 6 : Speed 597 , Pxbus 99 : 14.33 Fps
L=1 M=3 N=2 : Speed 398 , Pxbus 199 : 14.34 Fps
L=1 M=3 N=3 : Speed 597 , Pxbus 199 : 15.84 Fps
L M N settings above are reported with CPUID
But in Advanced XScaleCtrl their diffrent :
L=27 M=2 N=2 : Speed 398 , Pxbus 99 : 12.22 Fps
L=27 M=2 N=3 : Speed 597 , Pxbus 99 : 14.33 Fps
L=27 M=4 N=1 : Speed 398 , Pxbus 199 : 14.34 Fps
L=27 M=4 N=1.5 : Speed 597 , Pxbus 199 : 15.84 Fps
So what can i conclude : To bus speed is the real bottleneck for the Xscaler . An 400/200 Mhz is as fast as an 600/100 . Pretty strong stuff
Can somebody confirm my experiences ?
Ow yea forgot to mention : Dell Axim X5 Advance PPC 2002

Yes, there were post on Brighthand (I believe) a few months ago. Although the setting produced 597 MHZ, the performance in benchmark aren't as good. I don't remember the reason. Most pretty much agreed that the 472 gave better performance than the 597. Sorry I don't have more info that that.
