Diablo was based on Angband and other such games but with better graphics instead of 2D tiles (or ASCII chars) and realtime instead of being 100% turn-based.
AngbandCE is an old port of this and is available
here. However it doesn't have the best interface and the cab file you need to install is actually inside the cab file you download!
I have been debugging the source code, finishing a couple of the features that weren't ported and have also enhanced it to run in VGA on compatible devices with an improved interface. It will take me a while longer to completely finish, but here is a current screenshot:
