Now I have to do a hard reset and I imagine I will lose whatever I did to fix it. I also can no longer find the posts that described the fix. If anyone remembers what that was, could you repost it?

Here is a link that may have the information you need. It discusses upgrading the x50v to wm5. I had bookmarked it so that I would have it if I upgraded. When I tried to upgrade it failed to load wm5 on my x50v and Dell sent me a X51V.
