AKU3 is not a piece of hardware, AKU is the name Microsoft give their Windows Mobile service packs. The A12 ROM contained AKU2 (which brought DirectPush messaging and a few OS optimisations) and I imagine Dell's next ROM won't be realeased until AKU3 is ready.

Dell probably won't contract HTC to make another PDA any time soon, unless Dell wants to enter the mobile phone market.

I've checked, and HTC have no up and coming devices similar or better than the x51v. Virtually all HTC's up and coming devices are smartphones.
