I was having problems with Media Player this morning and ended up having to do a hard reset. For some reason, the Player disappeared from the Programs menu but I just discovered it this morning when trying to use the Media Player after a week or so of not using it.
After messing around with it trying to figure out what it was, I was not able to dectect what was causing the problem until I did a hard reset.
It turns out that an application I recently upgraded must have had some sort of corrupt file(s) and it was wiping out the Media Player.
After the hard reset, I chose to reinstall all apps manually and that's when I discovered which application was causing the problem. Granted, it was the long way to go about this but, at least I have my answer. So much for the upgrade on that one application but, I don't need it that badly if it's going to cause problems like this. I'd rather have the Media Player :)

Thanks wildcat for your ideas...this is where I started my journey this morning trying to figure out what was wrong!
