OK... edge777, what you said seems to explain why once a message in the Gmail POP server is downloaded to my axim, the same message will not be downloaded again to my axim because the server has already archived it. What I didn't understand, until I read your explanation, is why the mail client in my Axim MIGHT delete a "header" message automatically if the client makes a subsequent request to the POP server to download the full version of the same message. Is it because the client anticipates the full version of the message will arrive and therefore deletes the header version before the full version is actually downloaded completely? So... if the full version of the message for some reasons doesn't arrive (e.g., a poor connection), the client will not have the full version as well as the client version?

I don't know how a POP server works; I throw this reasoning out hoping to learn from (and be corrected by) the experts.
