Talyn, VDubs error message... how to encode in mp3?

hey talyn, the VDub error message i was getting with that movie file was "VirtualDub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CGR calues during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 0 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed WAV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder (bitrate:192.0+-0.0kbps). i tried messing with the skew, but its really difficult to do it manually. how do i do it in mp3? what do you suggest?

i've decided that for the size it takes up, i'm happy with a 160 bitrate. and if you turn the drop tolerance all the way up its quite smooth. however even on the files that the audio sync is right on, turning the drop tolerance all the way unsyncs it alittle. i'm thinking about skewing it negative alittle so i can keep the drop tolerance all the way up. every try this?

is there a virtual dub forum???
