ActiveSync keeps those settings individually for each PC it syncs with, so you may not have to toggle the settings yourself once you get them set (but you may have to do it through ActiveSync on the PDA, in the same way as people do the fake server trick).

Are you using network profiles (where you boot the PC into one or the other) or Outlook profiles?
