This was in conjunction with moving my Outlook Mailbox to another server (which cleaned out some corruption, maybe?), upgrading Outlook from 2002 to 2003, then a downgrade to 2000, and a re-upgrade to 2003, and flashing the Axim's ROM to the latest A12. Whew!
Hope this might help someone else.

I predict it will work for awhile...a few days. I've felt elated after a few random fixes that lasted for a few days as well.
