Question Help! Need to convert .VOB to TCPMP readable format

Hi all,
Hope someone can help me on this. I have some lecture dvd's and wanted to watch them on my handheld. I have the obvious Windows media player but installed and use TCPMP/Core player as the default. I tried copying the dvd contents over to my SD card using a card reader which was successful but trying to access them thru TCPMP they dont appear, they are visible thru WM but cant play,Can also see them in file explorer so I know they are there. Their extensions end in .vob, .ifo, .bup . I have tried copying them using some free nero express software I got with my DVD burner thinking as to convert them into one playable dvd file but no joy and I'm lost. Help pleeeeease
