Hi, does overwriting files in ROM cause any device damage? Specifically, I want to replace the .wav sound files in the /Windows directory with my own sounds. When I go to overwrite them in Resco Explorer, it gives me a warning about possible device damage.

I understand doing a hard-reset will restore the original files, but will it cause any long-term, permanent damage?
