Hi everyone. Not that this is exactly what you want but I suspect it will work: I have a PPC-6700 from Sprint and TCPMP on it. It runs WM 5.0. When I downloaded it at first it would not play .mp4 movies. I went back and downloaded the FFMPEG plugin file and pow, movies play incredibly well. I suggest that everyone here trying to play movies experiment with both your format, compression schemes etc until you find what works. To get there you will need to make sure you download the codecs necessary to see the movies first. Once you do this, and can see the video, play with settings, pushing the envelope so to speak until the movie becomes jerky and will not play smoothly then back off the data rate. Use variations until you establish what works. If you do this, I bet I can get the info to people at Dell to help establish a set up guidlines for best known methods for making and watching mvies on an Axim or other devices using Windows Mobile 5. And yes, WMP on the PPC 5.0 is horrible. It won't play much! Lacks real support and plugins. One more thing. The X50V has a special video chipset in it but nobody I know is taking advantage of the hardware acceleration it offers. I fly private airplanes and I use moving map software on an axim and it could do a lot more. If someone knows what the secret sauce is, the guys at
www.approach-systems.com would love to know about it! 3D enabled moving maps and terrain etc would be possible!
