I would add (perhaps redundantly) that AVRCP under WMP does indeed work with the Microsoft BT stack (assuming you are using the A12 ROM).
This appears to be your only option if you insist on using the MS BT stack under WM5 or if you want to play WMA files, although I'm waiting with baited breath on M's review of iPlay...
