Got to the registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/StorageManager/Profiles
And change the value "AutoPart" from "0" to "1"; Your partitions on your SD Card will show up as "SD Card" and "SD Card2".
Reboot the Axim.
Sweet!

Yes, I can do it on my X51V. Don't know about your device, though.
I used fdisk in linux to partition the SD Card and then changed the above registry value on the pda.
