I have to say the main reason for my to add a Ratoc USB HOST was to put to work Touchscreen. Once having it I entered into a game of putting to work as many devices as possible. I enjoy it a lot.
Also, USB devices are very very very cheap compared with BT ones. It is more than that: in most of cases we can consider they are "FREE" because we already have them. In my case I bought none for Axim I already had mouse, keyboard, HD, memory, SD to USB adaptor, webcam (still not working), printer and scanner (last 2 ones still not tried). My photo camera USB port also appears at my Axim as mass storage device.
