Hmmm, you are right. Why not to give them a try.
This does not compare with BT stack hack. That involved 3rd party software hacking, also there was a matter of licenses in between.
This is full legal and it does not seem to be a commercial interference for Dell, just the opposite.
Recently I did the same with Valentine One Radar Detector. This device can have a remote unit connected via serial port. I asked them for interface spec to write a program for PDA to act as remote unit. In a couple of days I got an answer from Mike Valentine (the boss) with full spec data :approve:
On the other hand, we know there are a lot of people from Dell at forum and no one say anything about that
To make a Dell Support question we must enter Service Tag number. I still have one month warranty left and I do not want do a question involving hacking during that period. I will do it in one month if any of you did not do it first :)
