Guys, in order to squeeze any technical information from Dell, HTC would have to agree and I doubt that very much. Dell and HTC most likely have an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) in effect that prevents either from sharing proprietary product information with any external customers. That is an industry norm. If you want to get more info on the devices, you'll need to reverse-engineer them as the contributors at handhelds.org have done.

Now, I'm not saying that it's an impossibility that Dell won't do something 'nice' for us, just that the odds are not in our favour.

HP on the other hand has been great with releasing technical information on their earlier PDAs to handhelds.org. Unfortunately, the newer products are also built by HTC and - you get the idea.

I might be getting a bad X51v board in the near future and since I've been reverse-engineering stuff for the last 40 or so years, I should be able to determine once and for all just what hidden secrets lay undiscovered.

I'm hoping there's JTAG and USB host interfaces, but only time will tell.
