The backup battery is not rechargable. Also the backup battery has one main purpose ... It provides just enough power to keep all your information intact for when you change out your main battery (swap with another one)... Even thou you think your Axim might be turned off its still on but running in a standby mode .. The little backup battery can't support the Axim for very long ...
Again just enough for the swapping of main batteries only ...
