Are you using Widcomm or MS Stack?
Also, did you install MemMaid and delete your notification queue?
For weeks, I had problems with my BT AS but it was because I deleted a critical notification in Memaid.
Check out this site also.... It help me out a lot as well for removing phantom COM Ports...
