As with all upgrades, remember your experiences in making any decision. All of the Windows upgrades eventually needed upgrade or Service packs to fix something that was missing or outdated. Windows XP is no exception, we have had SP1 and now SP2 and continuous updates. I doubt very much that Vista would be different. So, my advise is wait a year and see what bugs come up before buying or upgrading. Otherwise we will all be learning from your experiences with Vista first hand. Agreed, I personally ran Win98SE for as long as possible, untill SP2 came out for Xp and the hardware drivers were fixed.
