I believe you are a cynic dvmed, and I am afraid you will probably be right. Even if there is an update I expect the day after it is released to see a whole swarm of threads detailing how people turned their X50s into paperweights, either through not quite following the instructions properly, or their computer crashing at a bad moment, or just general weird issues.
Quite why so many consider WM5 an absolute neccessity and are willing to risk a paperweight I don't know. Granted it has some nice features, but WM2003 and a recent backup is just as good from what I can tell.
