As for the not meant for public release, there've been several stories on news sites on the web saying that it was an official release and that the html docs just hadn't been updated yet, and then they discovered that the patch could be abused and pulled it. (here's an example of such a story: http://www.brighthand.com/article/Ha...se_of_Axim_Fix).
