That makes it an "official" release at that time. The fact that it has been pulled from SOME sites now, but not others, is confusing at best.
For instance, the exact same english version is on still the Singapore FTP site, and is probably on others. Is it not then still an official release, as anyone can download it, and, assuming you are properly upgrading 2003 from A04 to A05, folllow Dell's instructions and try to install it? Sounds official to me.
It may not work, as is the case with AX and the 1/13 hang, but there is nothing that says it is unofficial and, to the contrary, it is still as official and as anything else they have released for any other Dell produc at any other time as no notices state otherwise.
It is not a requirement of all Axim users to read and follow all of one of this site's moderator's opinions on morality, legality, etc. Barring any other official direct communication from Dell to its registered owners (I have got nothing), the upgrade is still available and official. Cageyjames doesn't have authority to change that, nor should he be so arrogant to think that he does.

That seems kind of harsh. Cageyjames was simply trying to help the users of the site he moderates. It's true that being a moderator doesn't make you automatically right. One of the possible reasons that Cageyjames is a moderator is because he does research on these issues and tries to help other people. You can never be sure of what information you have is correct or not.

If you were told that by somebody working at Dell do you think you believe it? Cageyjames did and he is trying to help people.
As for following "all of one of this site's moderator's opinions on morality, legality, etc." This is true, however, all of the users of Aximsite
do have to follow Chris's opinion on the legality side. This is his site and he decides what's against the rules. I don't think Cageyjames was trying to make the patch any less official.
