When you say "view" do you mean to watch the harddrive copy of the movie on your computer? If that's the case, windows media, windvd, and programs like that are smart enough to know that all the vob are of one dvd and will play your video as if you have the physical dvd disc.

Now, if you mean to convert the harddrive copy to divx/xvid, the converting programs are also smart enough to know that the vobs belong together. AutoGK, Clonedvd mobile, pqdvd can convert harddrive copies of video.

BUT, Fairuse cannot. You need to have the physical dvd for Fairuse. There are two ways around it. One you can make an iso copy of your dvd and save that on your harddrive. Fairuse can convert iso's.

Second, if you have started to play with Fairuse, you will see that the first part of the converting process is for Fairuse to store a copy of the dvd onto the hard drive in "Fairuse" format. You can halt the process after that step and put the project in queue. I do that often so that I can batch the process and convert multiple dvds in the queue.

Sorry for being so chatty. If you need any clarifications, let me know.
