Are the symptoms of the unit no power???? If you cant get it to power up I'd say your stuck....Otherwise try booting from SD and reload your old ROM. I am far from an expert though. I read that you should hex edit the rom first before uploading. Apparently there are other guides on this that clearly explain it. Apparently the rom still needs to tell the axim it's the same language but after erasing and re-writing and then booting it's the english rom....Something about copying and pasting the first couple of the lines from your old rom onto the english rom and saving it as the original french rom..then upload via SD card from hard reset explained above.
There are some guides available and a quick search will unearth it if you get it up and running again..

Yes the unit has power "Green light on the power button". Unfounately I can't power on with either hard or soft reset.
I followed the instructions to change the language from Spanish to English (upgrade from earlier verion to A06).The unit erased the older rom /loaded the new rom from SD card. All went exactly according to the way the procedures described. After the completion of the process the unit tried to reboot. Instead of seeing the new English language on my X30. I saw an expensive paper-weight.
ANy one has any suggestion on how I can get this sucker back to life??
