The thing is like - the screen of GBA (the normal one) has resolution exactly 240x160 pixels. When you display the game on your PDA in portrait, you may note that one size is 480 pixels (since VGA screen has the resolution 640x480) and the second is then computed so that the aspect ratio remains the same. Lastest version does not yet support 2700g's hardware zoom, it uses pixel doubling instead so yes, the output may look a bit grainy. In morphgear, there's an option to smooth the output, but it eats up so much of your CPU that the game is no longer playable. So yes, the output may look a bit worse that the one of Morphgear's, but still, playing almost any game at 100% speed with 20-60FPS is the reason (for me, that is) to use PocketGBA.
P.S.: You should check official forums on sunbug.net
P.P.S.: If you use "landscape" mode to display the emulated game, then the output WILL be terrible ^_^
