I think I'd rather one of the smaller laptops; but the only one I found recently is the Sony Vaio (they list one on their web site with an 11.4" display.
I think that would be good for home use with an external HD, DVD burner, LCD display (I have a 19" widescreen that is good), and a good keyboard and mouse.

The only thing about the Vaio is the price, but the same problem exists with the UMPCs.

For now, I'm sticking with my Dell Dimension desktop and my X5.
