There might be a way; though I don't know about it and it'll most likely require fooling aournd with the registry.

There is a method where you can replace the battery icon with both date and time. But I can't remember where I found the information (it requires a lot of steps and input into the registry - so you'll definitely need a registry editor).

I got mine to diplay dd-mmm-yy format on top and hh:mm am/pm below it in the place where the battery icon used to be...
